Waterfall Enrichment
Querying multiple data providers in sequence — falling through to the next when one lacks a record — to maximize match rate on contact data.
Waterfall enrichment chains several data sources so that if the first provider has no email or phone for a contact, the request cascades to the second, then the third, until a match is found. Because no single provider covers everyone, the waterfall approach materially raises overall match rates compared with relying on one source.
The trade-offs are cost and accuracy: querying multiple vendors costs more per record and can surface conflicting data that still needs verification. Teams tune the order to hit the cheapest reliable source first and reserve premium providers for the records the earlier tiers miss, balancing coverage against the price of a fully enriched contact.
